Byte.sg and Singapore Red Cross hosted experiential learning journey to Singapore Zoological Gardens

Byte.sg, in partnership with the Singapore Red Cross, organized an immersive educational excursion to the Singapore Zoo for our young beneficiaries. This learning journey served as a vital, real-world extension of the environmental science modules taught within our community digital labs, translating textbook concepts into tangible, unforgettable experiences. For many children among them, this excursion offered a rare opportunity to encounter the wildlife they had spent weeks studying—bringing their lessons on biodiversity and ecology to life.

Integrating Technology with Field Research
To reinforce their digital skills in an outdoor setting, the young learners were organized into small, volunteer-led research cohorts. Equipped with iPads, the students took on the roles of junior field researchers.

Instead of passively viewing the exhibits, they utilized digital photography and note-taking applications to document animal behaviours, habitats, and physical adaptations.
