The Byte
Model
A holistic framework to bridge the digital divide and transform passive users into active digital creators.
Programs
BYTE.sg delivers specially curated digital programmes to youths, adults, and seniors over 55—now expanding to single parents and return-to-work mothers—by bringing technology directly into low-income communities. Spanning topics from Cyber Wellness and AI to design thinking, our programmes transform beneficiaries from passive digital consumers into confident, responsible digital creators.
Technology
BYTE.sg supplies the devices, peripherals (like AR goggles and 3D pens), and connectivity needed to run our programmes—including refurbished devices from our donation drives redistributed to disadvantaged individuals. We also provide adaptive tech for seniors and those with different learning abilities, ensuring universally accessible learning while welcoming participants to bring their own devices.
Coaches
BYTE.sg's dedicated, trained coaches lead and facilitate our programmes, bringing diverse professional backgrounds that make them tangible career role models for beneficiaries. They create collaborative, fun, and meaningful learning environments, and we also train partner volunteers and befrienders to deliver partner-led sessions.
Partners
BYTE.sg partners across the public, private, and people sectors to complement and supercharge our community empowerment work. Partners help by connecting us with beneficiaries, providing volunteer coaches, devices, connectivity, and funding—and we lean on industry partners to co-create specialized, industry-relevant curriculum that keeps our content cutting-edge.
Continuous
Learning
Participants are placed into groups called 'Communities of Learning,' where supplementary learning content is made available after each session. These groups create a supportive space for participants to encourage one another, spurring each other on to keep learning and achieve even more.
Certifications & Recognitions
Participants receive certificates upon completing each module. In our youth programmes, we also recognise participants for demonstrating specific behaviours such as graciousness and leadership, and where applicable, their project works are displayed online and given other showcase opportunities to celebrate their efforts.
